This week’s gratitude post is about something new in my life. Actually, the newest thing in my life is also something old, too. Or rather, something I’m re-experiencing.
Recently I moved back to sunny Perth after spending four years on the east coast of Australia. Life over east was great, but a little too fast-paced and a little too chaotic. I’d just spent five years living in Perth before moving back to Sydney for my husband’s career, and it wasn’t long before I missed the simplicity and the quietness of Perth.
Truth be told, I never wanted to leave Perth in the first place, but my husband (a true blue Perth boy) wanted to experience life in the big smoke. It was a great move for him in many ways, for both of us really. But it didn’t take long for him to realise that the grass isn’t greener on the other side. Home is where the heart is, and our hearts were in the home we had built in Perth before we left for greener pastures.
So the newest thing in my life is moving back to Perth, a city I love, to a house I love, with a family I love.
